STYLES I LOVE: Andy Warhol for UNIQLO

I always knew it would take a doozy of a design to get me wearing printed tees again, and boy howdy, here it is. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of pop art icon Andy Warhol's death, Uniqlo has just released a limited edition t-shirt line inspired by the uber talented artist's finest works. If you're like me, though, there's just no getting better than his famous Campbell soup can. I've been looking for a large-sized print of this for months, but fate has dictated that I wear it as a shirt instead. I bought this when I went to Hong Kong last Monday for a Forever 21 event. No complaints here. This way, more people will be able to appreciate the handiwork of a man who single-handedly challenged the world to see art differently. Yes, a doozy indeed.

Now I have a fanboy shirt to wear to the Bloggers United shizz this weekend!

TRASH BIN #1

Another added section to my blog. YES! HAHA. And just as the name implies, in here are all the "trash" for me. Either about fashion or music.

Okay, here's the deal, I never fail to visit Lookbook everyday to get some inspiration on what to wear. I admire probably 75% of photos there, but some of it are just trash for me. Everything that I'll post here are my personal opinions. We are all entitled to our own point of view. :)

So as I was doing my regular routine, I just can't help but wonder why some would take pictures such as this:

Well of course I did something to his face so people (who know him) wouldn't recognize who he is. I'm doing this purely because I don't think this photo does justice for Lookbook at all. What so fashionable about this? I mean besides the lack of a shirt inside and footwear? Not to mention, the guy is practically transparent! Making the couch the picture's focal point. I respect other's artistic point of view, but come on! We visit the site to get some inspiration on what to wear! Then you give us this? We might as well be transparent like you if we go out in public looking like this.

So while we are all still recovering from that picture, I'll leave you all with this picture from Lookbook as well. I won't say anything about the picture because I feel like the picture says it all. HAHA. Plus, I tweaked the picture so I really don't have to say anything. It's almost like it didn't come out of my mouth. LOL. But it surely did.

GOT MILK?
HAHAHAHA

BEATBOX: Where Have You Been - Rihanna

"Where Have You Been" has been out for quite a while now, but Rihanna made the wait for the music video well worth it with this just-released minimalistic masterpiece. It's all about the brilliant directing here, interspersing stunning (sometimes unrelated) visuals, impressive camera cuts, dynamic lighting and some sweet slow motion shots that made what could have been a tacky video quite artistic. Much props to director Dave Meyers for the vision and treatment. And yeah, great to see Riri go back to choreographed dancing in this video. Showing you how it's done-- Barbados style!!! Now, some more please?

WIN BORN THIS WAY BALL TICKETS!

Okay, so I just got a late gift from my client before (Carla Sibal). She gave me 3 Born This Way Ball concert tickets! I was like O-SHI! Thanks Maam! But the thing is I already bought my ticket months before. Ugghh! So, I decided to share my blessings and give it you mates. :)

YVANISM: Tipsy

When I arrived home last night, the first thing I did (and the only thing I could do), was sink my heavy body on the comforts of my warm, welcoming bed.

I took my time just lying there, listening to my breathing and actually feeling my body greedily sucking in the thick air around me. I was panting, that much I knew; but soon after, a strange buzzing noise started filling the little, invisible corners of my ears.

Where was it coming from? I couldn’t help but wonder. Was it from the monotonous, incessant whir of the fan beside me? Was it from an unknowing lack of oxygen inside my body?.

I stared at the ceiling with my mouth agape. How very strange this feeling is, I told myself. And were the fluorescent fixtures on my ceiling always this bright? Where are these little colored specks of light coming from? My eyes caught a red speck and a blue speck, before the fleeting rainbows disappeared altogether.

I started smiling like a fool, sheepish and giggly from whatever it was that was happening to me. Small spurts of laughter bubbled up inside me, warming my insides and heating the corners of my mouth, before they erupted loudly enough for my audience of none to hear.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what it feels like to be drunk— except I haven’t had a good, hard sip of alcohol for almost 3 days. Except I didn’t spend the night with a bottle of dripping beer on my hand, but rather, with someone else’s hand clasped around mine.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what it feels like to be high— except I haven’t had so much as a little whiff of weed or grass or salad since forever. Except I didn’t spend the day sniffing on a rolled up piece of paper, but rather, inhaling and taking in equally addicting traces of Cool Water. Snuggled deep on the car seat covers, lining and caressing the surface of cho’s skin.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what it feels like to be in love— drunk, on a high, tipsy and confused. Except of course, minus the hangover.

Loving is panting over and over again, but knowing you’re never going to run out of air. It’s feeling dizzy and deaf with sharpened senses. It’s laughing uncontrollably, because you have a reason to, and because you don’t need one. It’s smiling, because an entire day with cho is enough, and because it isn’t. It’s feeling overwhelmed, but knowing in the end, it’s just right.

Love is a funny thing; loving, even funnier. :')

STYLES I LOVE: My Wrist Accessory Lineup

While I preach minimalism when it comes to clothes, I go for the exact opposite when it comes to my accessories. This applies mostly to the ones I put on my wrist, which looks more and more crowded as the days go by. I guess it all started when I was in my hip-hop phase. Hah! I remember I used to wear a lot of tribal-ish wristbands in different colors way back when and this eventual buildup - I suppose - is my grown-up interpretation of that. I love that I got different materials in there too: leather, steel, rope, and even wood. What can I say? Wooden beads are back.

Watch (Tag Heuer), Leather + Rope Bracelet (Topman), Buddha Beads (Divisoria)

WALK THAT WALK: Japanese standards at KEIZO

So, I just got back from Davao last night and cho decided to hit Keizo at Burgos Circle, The Fort. Well if you're familiar with Burgos Circle nowadays, it's very crowded. (Unlike before when it wasn't crowded at all). So much for having Distillery as the only "drinking place" there before. We had dinner at Melo's. Then I really wanted to drink a little. Take note, just a little. LOL So we were actually looking for a quiet bar/pub place. Rue and Izumi were totally out of our options cause it's just too crowded there. So there we were walking along Burgos Circle, about to give up. Then we saw...
The place was deserted. Well not really, there was a woman eating by herself. (Predictable). Their staff was so accommodating. They even did the "bowing" to us. Twas so cute. Haha! Then we ordered their Sake and California Maki.
Sake bored me to death! And honestly, I'd rather go for the more "strong" ones. Vodka perhaps? Well, it was okay. We weren't really planning on getting drunk anyway. The maki was really really REALLY good. I have no idea why though. We also saw the chef and the owner of Keizo. Both of them were Japanese. Maybe that's why their maki tasted so authentic.
So when we got home, some of my other friends came over. We were having our "cheap thrill night". We were drinking GSM blue mixed with apple ice tea. Then of course, we all went to Privé after one bottle. Typical us.
